Entrepreneurs, Hockey & Goals.

You don't "set" a goal in hockey. You either make a goal or you miss it.

Same with entrepreneurs.

Setting goals and planning is great, but to an entrepreneur it all comes down to whether or not it actually counts on the scoreboard.

They want to make goals. Not just set them.

Help your entrepreneur keep perspective by reminding them that when they miss a goal it simply provides a better gauge on where to aim next time.

And when they make one...well, that means sirens, applause and high fives!

  1. Too often this point is missed my all of the hype-building seminar speakers! Setting the goal is only the beginning of the sometimes difficult path to seeing things come to fruition. You and I both know that a well thought out plan poorly executed can only spell disaster and frustration. But when the plan comes together and the end result is a win for everyone those sirens, applause and high fives from the family area all the sweeter! Thanks for expressing your thoughts so clearly and being a cheerleader to the entrepreneur in your life. We could all use a good cheerleader!
